about the album
Buckingham Nicks, the long-lost studio album from Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks as a duo, returns at last—officially reissued for the first time since its original 1973 release. Remastered from the original analog master tapes and available on 180-gram vinyl, CD, and hi-res digital formats, this release restores a pivotal moment in rock history.
Recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles and produced by Keith Olsen, the album captures the early magic between Nicks and Buckingham—two voices that would later help define the sound of Fleetwood Mac. Released on September 5, 1973, it features 10 tracks that showcase their distinct songwriting styles, from the folk-tinged shimmer of Crystal to the driving rock of Don’t Let Me Down Again.
The album also played a key role in Fleetwood Mac’s future. When Mick Fleetwood toured Sound City in 1974, Olsen played Frozen Love through Studio A’s monitors. The track’s chemistry and production immediately captivated him. Soon after, Buckingham was offered a spot in Fleetwood Mac—but only if Nicks joined too. Their inclusion would go on to reshape the band’s legacy.
This reissue has been carefully remastered by Chris Bellman, with the Rhino High Fidelity edition cut by Kevin Gray and pressed on 180-gram vinyl for audiophile-grade sound.
