EVA CASSIDY - JAZZED - Vinyl LP EVA CASSIDY

An extraordinary new collection of American Songbook classics, JAZZED showcases Eva Cassidy’s exceptional vocal versatility and exquisite repertoire choices. For the first time, the heights of Eva’s jazz performances are brought together, cementing her reputation as equal to the jazz greats of any era. Ten songs, written across six decades of the twentieth century, are treated to Eva’s unique interpretive magic to reinvent the familiar - revealing an entirely original listening experience.

Complementing Eva's vocal and interpretive tour de force are four showstopping new band arrangements by composer Christopher Willis. Listeners to It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing), Blue Skies, Cheek To Cheek and At Last are instantly transported back to the golden age of American vocal jazz. Reveling in homage to the Sinatra legends of the fifties and sixties, Willis’ arrangements masterfully draw upon the most exciting, playful and outright fun qualities of Nelson Riddle and Billy May. In contrast, You’ve Changed and Ain’t No Sunshine capture the emotional depth of Gordon Jenkins, beautifully rendered by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Transcending era, style and fashion, JAZZED is a timeless celebration of twentieth-century American songwriting, arranging and vocal artistry.
